the goat house

A friend of mine told me that this is the the remains of a farmhouse that was used on a goat farm. I saw no signs, so I’m not sure where he got that info from, but it sounded good to me.

great photos! the goat farm is located just off of bear swamp road in mahwah n.j. info can be found thru the mahwah historical society or town lib. in the early (1920s?) a man named coogeshall purchased the land and imported goats in . it may have been used as a small retreat for girls. the trail nearby stretching over towards macmillan res. was also part of the route of a small gauge railroad set up for a short time to haul out timber.
