I’ve visited the Iron Door a few times. I actually suggested the idea to him but didn’t go with him because he’d already gone to the jet in the woods with me. His editors wouldn’t have gone for another trip with the same guide, so I suggested Brian Snat and voila. Another expedition for the intrepid Record writer.

if you got off of route 287 at exit 53 and headed to the left down hamburg tpk you cross a railroad tracks very quickly. there’s a park immeditely after that where you can park. if you walk back to the railroad tracks, you can walk on them and cross the river there. you have to follow along a fence for a while before there’s a break in it. from there, i really cant say, there’s not a specific trail. it’s about 2/3 of the way up the mountain face.
