According to Michael Wendell this airplane graveyard is the private collection of an avid airplane nut somewhere in Ohio. The owner is in his 80’s and he has not only airplanes and parts of airplanes but tons of books and magazines about airplanes too. Michael describes him as a hoarder. Ya think? Watch the video. it’s amazing.

I knew Walter and his wife for years. He was a real piece of work!!
In later years he was very very protective of his collection as many “Lookers” became “Takers”.
I was always greeted and treated kindly by the couple. My background and history with a few of his birds let him open up some.
Walter is gone now. His collection is protected. One or two birds have found new homes.
Many felt he could have done more to preserve his flock, but the fact is-by removing these aircraft from an almost certain date with the smelter helped many restorers get data and at times a finishing touch or too.
