A Coyote in Teaneck?

Local police are warning Teaneck residents to be mindful of their children and pets after a coyote apparently grabbed a small dog and took off into the woods with it, presumably killing it. The picture says “file photo”. I wonder how many photos of coyotes the Bergen Record has in their files….

Secaucus’ Lauryl Hill park actually had a reputation for harboring at least one coyote there. I never saw the animal face-to-face, but checking the backroads, you could find traces of its presence once in awhile.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a coyote in Bergen County. When I lived in NYC, I remember hearing reports of them even in Westchester County (Just north of the Bronx). There are many coyotes out here in the Poconos also.
