I went canoeing in the Pine Barrens a few years ago and seen what is probably one of the most hideous creatures known to man. NO, not the Jersey Devil… but The Egghead aka Laura “Leut” Leuter, who was lurking around with her team of Jersey Devil hunters looking for evidence to prove that the story is real and not just some fictitious folklore created to scare little children.

    The Tuckerton Seaport.

Great, safe place to take kids (charges admission, reasonable). Interactive clamming and Piney exhibits. Pictures of how the old lighthouse slid into the water .

Rt. 9 in Tuckerton, close to a Wawa and Stewarts (and, if you go a little further south into LEHT, the Pine Cone ice cream stand).
