Since 1956 drivers along Route 35 in Middletown have been greeted by a 30 foot tall clown. Originally erected to advertise for the non-defunct Food Circus, the giant metal clown sits on a metal axis that allows it to spin. It supposed spun once then broke and was never repaired. The clown with the giant red finger held signs that would advertise the current specials on sale.
There was a proposal to tear the clown down, but local residents opposed the demolition of a local icon and the clown was saved.

I own the Evil Clown of Middletown site. Unfortunately, the old version STUNK, so I am remaking the site. I’ll find somewhere to put it when I’m done.
